The one designers will actually touch is Code Layers: interactive prototypes backed by real code, living on the canvas instead of in a separate tool. It's open beta now. Next to it, Specs gives you a Markdown workspace to keep the reasoning around a design — decisions, constraints, the why — beside the file it describes, on paid plans. The platform is also growing a back end. A new Payload integration wires a file up to a CMS and backend framework, and the company says its MCP server now drives more than 20 tools. A node-based canvas for AI workflows, Weave, is in the mix too. Most of this is beta, so read it as a preview of where the tool is heading, not something to standardize on this week.
