Google trailed this one back in March, and today it's live. With Chrome 153, the stable channel moves from a roughly four-week cadence to a fresh version every two weeks — beta included, now shipping three weeks ahead of each stable. The change lands on desktop, Android, and iOS at once. Individual releases get smaller; they just arrive twice as often. The point is speed to patch. A fix or a new platform capability now clears the pipeline in half the time it used to, and Google is explicitly pitching the two-week Stable as the most secure choice — teams that want breathing room can stay on the eight-week Extended Stable instead. Worth a thought if you run headless Chrome in CI: regressions ship on the same faster clock, so pin against a known-good build rather than tracking latest blind. Twice the cadence cuts both ways.
