Amazon Bedrock Agents, the feature AWS shipped back in November 2023, has a new name and a smaller future. It's Bedrock Agents Classic now, and starting today it won't take new customers. If your account has called the Agents APIs in the last twelve months you're allowlisted and nothing changes; everyone else gets a 403 on CreateAgent and InvokeInlineAgent. Existing agents keep running, and the read, update, and invoke APIs stay open. Ten SageMaker AI features — Ground Truth, Clarify, Debugger, and Model Monitor among them — moved to maintenance in the same sweep. AWS wants new agent work on Bedrock AgentCore, the successor it rolled out at Summit New York in June, and recommends migrating Classic workloads over. Nothing breaks for you today unless you were about to start something new here.
