iOS 27 beta 4 pushes the rebuilt Siri into focus

  • Shipped

The story in this build is Siri. Apple's rebuilt assistant — running on the next wave of Apple Intelligence and new on-device Foundation Models — picks up two more voices that respond to the pace and expressivity sliders added earlier in the cycle, plus a reworked pop-up you summon by swiping down from the home screen. Everything else is the usual pre-release housekeeping: interface tweaks, efficiency work, and a round of bug fixes ahead of the fall launch. If you ship an iPhone app, this is the beta to test against. The assistant's surface has shifted enough over the summer that app-intent handling and on-screen awareness are worth re-checking now rather than in September, when the general release lands alongside the new iPhones. iPadOS 27 got the same beta the same day, and public-beta testers should see the build within about a day.
