Announced at Config 2026 on June 24, Code Layers is now rolling out to early access via the figma.com/config-betas waitlist. The feature brings a live GitHub repo onto the canvas: design layers can be converted to code-backed layers, npm packages (including motion libraries and 3D frameworks) come along for the ride, and the file stays multiplayer so teammates can comment and iterate without leaving Figma. React is the supported framework for now. It requires a Full seat on a paid plan. This is a meaningful status shift from announcement to hands-on access. If your team has been watching it since Config, now is the time to join the waitlist rather than wait for GA.
