GitHub added `ai_credits_used` to user-level reports in the Copilot usage metrics API — both the single-day and 28-day variants, at organization and enterprise endpoints. If you migrated to usage-based billing when it went live on June 1 and have been operating without per-user credit visibility since, this is what you were waiting for. The data mirrors what shows up in the billing dashboard but is now programmable: build your own cost dashboards, alert on runaway agent usage, or pipe it into chargeback reports. Credits are the same $0.01 units used everywhere in GitHub's billing model.
