Firefox 152 Ships JPEG XL by Default, Redesigned Settings, and Notification Action Buttons

The headline change is JPEG XL image support graduating from Firefox Labs to stable — websites can now serve the format without capability checks. Settings got a redesign with cleaner groupings and improved navigation, and the New Tab page gains widget support. Tab management picks up a couple of useful ergonomics: copy links from multiple selected tabs at once, and a "Send tab" toolbar button finally surfaces as a first-class control. The notification action-button addition is worth attention if you've been waiting for parity with Chrome — that API has been widely available elsewhere for years. Private Browsing's old habit of silently breaking sites via tracker blocking is also gone; it now shows an infobar and lets the page load, which is a saner default. Firefox ESR updated alongside the stable release on June 16.
