Android CLI Reaches Stable 1.0 with Programmatic Version Lookup and Journeys Support

  • Shipped

The Android CLI stable 1.0 release quietly completes the arc that started at Google I/O — the tool is no longer a preview, and two concrete additions arrive with it: programmatic version lookup lets agents and scripts query installed SDK versions without shelling out to human-readable output, and Journeys support brings automated device interaction flows into the CLI's scope. Neither is glamorous, but both are table-stakes for reliable CI integration. Antigravity, Google's agent bridging layer, now ships an Android resources bundle that includes the CLI and a set of prebuilt skills for hooking agents into Android Studio workflows. Whether that matters depends on how much of your toolchain you're willing to route through Antigravity — but for teams already invested there, the handoff between agent tasks and Android Studio actions just became first-class.
