Node.js 25 Reaches End of Support

  • Deadline
  • Action required
  • High importance

As of June 1, Node.js 25 is unsupported. Any project still running it is now flying without a security net — no patches, no backports, nothing. The current release to land on is 26, which ships Temporal API and V8 14.6 and will enter LTS in October. The EOL also marks a broader inflection: starting with the October 2026 cycle, Node.js is moving to one major release per year, and every major will become LTS — the old odd/even distinction goes away. If you've been confused by release parity rules in the past, that confusion is about to be retired.
