Riding in with the Opus 4.8 launch, this research-preview feature lets Claude Code plan a piece of work and then spin up hundreds of parallel subagents within a single session — the demo case being codebase-scale migrations across hundreds of thousands of lines. It is preview-only for now, so treat the parallel-subagent claim as something to test on a real repo before you trust it with one.
