Google AI Studio Gains Native Kotlin Support, Workspace Integrations, and Cloud Run Export

  • Shipped

At Google I/O 2026, Google AI Studio received a cluster of developer-facing updates designed to shorten the path from model experimentation to production deployment. Native Kotlin support lets Android and backend Kotlin developers interact with Gemini models without switching contexts or adding JVM-bridging dependencies. Google Workspace integrations bring AI Studio capabilities directly into Docs, Sheets, and related products, enabling prototype-to-workflow pipelines without leaving familiar tools. One-click Cloud Run deployment and seamless Antigravity export address two common friction points: standing up a scalable endpoint and wiring that endpoint into an agent orchestration graph. Together, these additions position AI Studio less as a sandboxed playground and more as a full-lifecycle development environment. Teams already using Vertex AI or the Gemini API will find the new export paths reduce the boilerplate required to operationalize experiments.
